Dr. Johansein Rutaihwa

Dr. Johansein Rutaihwa is a trade economist specialized in the field of industrialization, regional trade, management, investment and business development in East Africa. He has extensive knowledge of business environment in SADC, EAC region and Africa. His strengths are in policy formulation, management and analysis. He is particularly familiar with the national and regional business and investment environment and has extensively published research in these fields. In fact, he has conducted various trade consultancies and research encompassing national strategy plans, market analysis and policy development covering Tanzania’s private sector and industrialization, FDI flows, competitiveness and productivity in various sectors. His experience working with various international and regional institutions such as the East Africa Community Secretariat and UNIDO as well as national ministries – including the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment – gives him specific insights on how business is conducted in Africa.

He holds Msc. International Trade Policy and Laws, Lund University Sweden; B.A Economics, University of Dar es salaam and Honorary Doctorate, Eastern European Science Academy Scientific Council, Ukraine.
